FLU VACCINATIONS -

This year there are 3 different vaccines:

1.    Patients aged 65 and over (as at 31.3.2020)  This vaccine is currently in stock and appointments available during the week and on Saturday 12th October.  There is the facility to book on-line as well over the phone.

2.    Patients aged 18 - 64 years with an AT RISK condition (such as diabetes, heart disease etc)  There has been a delay in this vaccine and it is due in surgery on 18th October. (limited supply) with a further delivery on 20th November.  There will be a clinic held on Saturday 23rd November.  If you have an appointment with the nurse for your review then check if the vaccine has arrived as we have ordered onbe for you.

3.  all children aged 2 to 3 years and children aged 10 - 17 in an AT RISK GROUP will have the NASAL flu.  The delivery for this is due 30th October and we will be running a special Disney themed clinic on Saturday 2nd November.

Patient Participation Group - Join our patient participation group. We hold meetings at the practice on the 3rd Wednesday of every 2nd month at 6:30pm.  No booking necessary, you can just turn up on the day. dates for the year can be found on the Patient group link.

The surgery will be closed for staff training 1 - 6:30 pm on the 2nd Thursday of every monthPlease note the surgery will no longer re-open at 4:00 pm.  When you ring the surgery the answer phone will provide you with the contact number for Bardoc.

What should I do if I fall ill when I’m away from home?

If you are ill while away from home or if you are not registered with a doctor but need to see one you can ask to be registered as a temporary patient at a nearby GP practice for up to three months. This process allows you to make use of a local practice but still remain a patient of your permanent GP practice at home. However, after three months, if you still wish to access this practice you will be required to permanently register.

If you wish to register with us as a temporary patient simply contact the practice directly.

 

Summary Care Record

There is a new Central NHS Computer System called the Summary Care Record (SCR). It is an electronic record which contains information about the medicines you take, allergies you suffer from and any bad reactions to medicines you have had.

 

Why do I need a Summary Care Record?

Storing information in one place makes it easier for healthcare staff to treat you in an emergency, or when your GP practice is closed.

This information could make a difference to how a doctor decides to care for you, for example which medicines they choose to prescribe for you.

Who can see it?

Only healthcare staff involved in your care can see your Summary Care Record. 

 

How do I know if I have one?

Over half of the population of England now have a Summary Care Record. You can find out whether Summary Care Records have come to your area by looking at our interactive map or by asking your GP

Do I have to have one?

No, it is not compulsory. If you choose to opt out of the scheme, then you will need to complete a form and bring it along to the surgery. You can use the form at the foot of this page.
